It's about time!

So it's about time... I haven't posted anything forever! Here are a few of our Holiday pics. We had a great Holiday at our house and I enjoyed almost two weeks off of work. Jake was spoiled rotten (or just well loved) even though he was a little more into the wrapping paper than the gift that was actually wrapped. One significant sad spot was the loss of Uncle Mark. We will miss his dry sense of humor, kindness, and friendship. He was always willing to lend a hand to help me out with any home remodeling project I had going at the time.

Jake's latest feature is sticking out his tongue. He just discovered it's there and it's his new favorite thing!

Our little man is growing up! He's graduated from the sink bath to his own bathtub.

This turned out to be a bit of a belly shirt as Jake grew. Mom had to have him wear it one more time and Dad insisted that it be retired immediately!

Dark Valley

A few weeks ago our little fam of 3 went to Dark Valley to spend the weekend at the cabin. We had a great time! We went for a 4-wheeler ride, ate lots of good food, relaxed, I read a book (I stayed up almost until daylight reading one night- I love a good page-turner!), and Mo gathered firewood. Heath, Tif, Halley, & Tee came out for dinner one night. The little kids had lots of fun and us big kids must have had fun too; we fixed dinner and chatted and it was midnight before we knew it!

Brown Campout

I haven't been bloggin' for a while, so I've got some catching up to do. Last month we went camping for our Brown Family Reunion on the Boulder Mountain. We all had a great time 4-wheeling, fishing, and spending time together at camp.

Ryland and his HUGE fish- look hard it's there! The kids had so much fun fishing in the little creek next to our campsite. Val made them all fishin' poles out of a willow and string. All they had to do was drop their worm in the creek and they'd catch these little fish.

Here are some of Jake's newborn pics. He was three weeks old at the time. My how time flies... I can't believe he's already eight weeks old now!! He had his two month check-up today and shots :( He weighs 12 lb. 8 oz. and is 23.5" long. He's a healthy little boy and growing like a weed!

Jake's Big Day

Jake's Blessing was on Sunday. Here are a few pics from the day. Jake looked so handsome in his little white suit. It's a good thing we blessed him in July, because I doubt he would have fit into this little suit in another month- he is growing so fast! We had a dinner afterwards at the park. Thanks to all our family and friends who came to support us! We are so blessed to have you Jake and we love you so much!

4th of July Celebration

This year we celebrated July 4th in the usual Wayne County fashion. We went to the parade in Torrey (saw it twice... in case you missed anything the first time it turns around and comes back), checked out some of the Apple Days festivities, ate lunch at Slackers with our buddies, went to a BBQ, finished the night with fireworks.

This is what Jake did for most of the parade... he SLEPT through it! I couldn't believe he was able to sleep through all the sirens, revving engines, and the band. Ultimately the drumming from the band woke him up on the second round of the parade. On the stroller there are the apple pies from Cafe Diablo, yummmmmmmmmmmm!

Gramps is a World War II Veteran and he rode on the Veterans' float. He said it was so d@#! HOT! I'm glad I got these pics because judging from his reaction I don't think he'll be on another float anytime soon!

We Love You Grandma!

We will miss our Grandma! We're so glad Jake had the chance to meet his "Grandma Great" and we were able to get these pictures with her that we will treasure forever. Grandma was such a loving person and she loved her family more than anything. At this time of sadness we find comfort knowing that Grandma has been reunited with Grandpa. We're so grateful that Grandma has been such an active part of our lives. We love you Grandma!

Welcome to the new addition to the Brown abode! I wish I could say the baby has arrived, but we're still waiting for him to make his grand appearance, what we do have is a llama herd. Pretty darn tutti! They are our pasture lawnmowers for the summer and they're quite the buzz of the neighborhood. Everyone keeps asking if we are going to eat them- SERIOUSLY?! We got them from PTR, the place I work, they are retired from active field duty and were looking for a good home. Meet the crew- Curly, Larry, & Marley...

We've been working on getting little Brownie's nursery ready for the past month or so. It's been such a fun process getting everything ready- I've even washed all his little clothes already and put them away. A few weeks ago my Mom & Dad came down and helped paint... Yes, believe it or not, I said my Dad came to paint! He was actually the one who was directing the whole operation (the stripes were a little challenging). He assures us this hidden talent has gone dormant, never to come out again! We'll see about that, I've always got a home project on the horizon. Val came and did all the trim work- it's a good thing we've got a few handy guys in the family. So come on out Brownie- we're ready for you (or as ready as we'll ever be)!

This wall hanging is so special! Grandma Pace hand-embroidered it with all the nursery rhymes.

Blankets, Quilties, & Woobies...

A couple things are for sure- Little Brownie is spoiled (or just well-loved) and will never be cold! These are the blankets we've received from Grandmas, Great Grandmas, Aunts, and Mom (that's me & I sort-of helped with one of them).

We need help! We still have not decided on a baby name. As time is growing short I realize we cannot name him Brownie or Baby Bob (his two nicknames so far)! I know we had a survey at the baby shower too, but I've had a few more suggestions this week. So please take a moment and vote on the survey- leave me a comment if you have any new suggestions.

What better way to get started than to post some pics of our cute little nieces!

I got to hang with Maddi (Clayton & Shanda's little one) yesterday afternoon. We had so much fun playing & reading stories. We even broke out some of Baby Bob's toys! Maddi loved this caterpillar toy that lights up & plays songs.

Here's a great pic of Macy (Bjarn & Becky's little one) last week at my parents' house. She was doing chores with Grandpa Steve in the tractor. She has the cutest little personality & loves to go wherever the action is!

Getting Started!

Greetings everyone & welcome to my blog! I've been meaning to start one of these dang things for quite a long time, but just never gotten around to it. It seemed like such a daunting task! Now that I'm on a part-time work schedule I've got a little more time on my hands. A luxury that I'm sure will soon go away with the arrival of our little Brownie next month, so I figured I better take advantage while I could! I'm not quite fluent in the "blog world" yet, so you'll have to bear with me & think of this as a work-in-progress. :)
